Handwoven tapestry

Size: 22 x 7cm (including wooden box frame with limewax finish)

materials: cotton, linen, rayon and wool; woven on 8 warps per inch.

A woven “paint palette”. I often warp up a separate, narrow strip on the loom next to my tapestry artwork, usually 2 inches wide, which allows me space to test out colour blends or gradations as I’m working. This strip helped me to figure out my subtle background sky blends for my “Inganess ebb” tapestry.
