Tomb of the eagles – Isbister Chambered Cairn, discovered by local farmer Ronald Simison in the 1950s. Now community run.
Orkney Fossil and heritage centre – fossils dating back 350 million years and heritage museum, also has a cafe.
The Workshop and Loft Gallery – The Workshop is a craft producers’ co-operative in the picturesque village of St Margaret’s Hope
The Italian Chapel – a beautiful chapel by Domenico Chiocchetti and his colleagues, Italian prisoners of war captured in North Africa and transported to the island of Lamb Holm in Orkney
Travel
Pentland Ferries – The quickest and shortest sea route to Orkney with a car.
Northlink Ferries – travel to Orkney via Scrabster or Aberdeen, overnight cabins available to book on the Aberdeen route.
Orkney Car Hire – Orkney Car Hire, operated by James D. Peace and co.
Stagecoach – local bus routes covering Orkney, the X1 runs from Stromness to St Margaret’s Hope through the week – Hoxa is a 45 minute walk out.
